Lars And The Real Girl Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: Sometimes you find love where you’d least expect it. Just ask Lars (Academy Award® Nominee Ryan Gosling), a sweet but quirky guy who thinks he’s found the girl of his dreams in a life-sized doll named Bianca. Lars is completely content with his artificial girlfriend, but when he develops feelings for Margo, an attractive co-worker, Lars finds himself lost in a hilariously unique love triangle, hoping to somehow discover the real meaning of true love. You’ll be swept off your feet by Lars and the Real Girl, hailed as “One of the Year’s 10 Best” by The Associated Press.

Review: What does one say about Lars and the Real Girl?  Its finally a unique and ultra-modern take on the love story!  Gosling plays a groundbreaking role in this already cult-classic indie gem, as a man who is in love with an artificial doll!  Those around him kinda of go along with it, because they don't know what else to do.  Lars is odd to begin with and this just tops it off.  A love triangle ensues with a real girl and Lars is faced with some tough decisions and some reality that he isn't used to facing.  I have been a big fan of this film for a few years now and was very excited to see it come to blu-ray.  So, how does it look in high-definition?  Pretty dang good, actually!  Its not a huge jump from the DVD, but its definately better.  I especially noticed the difference on the close-ups.   The blu-ray does have a few features, including a feature with some interviews, a deleted scene and some fun facts about real-life love dolls!

Interest Range: Comedy, Indie
