Sesame Street Live: Can't Stop Singing Review

We had the opportunity to take our family to the Sesame Street Live: Can't Stop Singing show last night at the Music Hall in Omaha, NE.  I remember when they first started doing Sesame Street Live, as a kid I always wanted to go, but never had the opportunity, neither did my wife, so this event was a first time for all of our family.

They advertised a Play Zone that was open an hour prior to the show and during the 15 minute intermission.  We decided to let the kids play a little and take some pictures with the scenes and characters there, it was a nice way to lead into the show.  We've included some pictures of the Play Zone below.

We weren't quite sure what to expect, I wasn't sure if I'd be bored senseless as a parent by the time this 90 minute extravaganza had completed, but I was pleasantly surprised.  The moment the characters went on stage, our 3 year old lit up like a Xmas tree.  He danced and sang and smiled the ENTIRE time,  without so much as a wimper or a whine.  He had a smile on his face the whole time.  He laughed and sang and danced...he had such a blast.  And, much to my enjoyment, my older two kids loved the show, as well.  My 8 year old daughter and even 10 year old son were both really into it!

The show went by fast, as each song doesn't last too long and we all found ourselves having a blast.  The show featured all the characters we wanted to see...Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Oscar, Zowie, Abby and more!   The costumes are so cute and lovable, it really brings these iconic characters to life!   The songs were fun and the sets were really vibrant and fun.  The only critique I have about the show is the confetti cannon at the very end of the show, it startled our 3 year old a little, but he recovered quickly, but beware its coming!   I only wish the show would come to town more often!

I was worried that the merchandise booths would be way overpriced, but I was happy to find that they were very reasonable, $15 for shirts, only $5 for a great reusable tote bag, etc, so we were able to afford to get some goodies and keepsakes for the kids.

The tickets are affordable and the entertainment is purely family friendly, you cannot beat this one for a great activity to do with your kids..its a wonderful experience.   The show is on the road, it will be in Omaha through January 6 and then onto Minneapolis and Kansas City.   You can buy tickets online HERE.  We cannot recommend it enough!
