Britishfest Con Invades Omaha/Council Bluffs This Weekend! (Review!)

Click the Above Title to read the Full Story....

I'm going to tell you first off that I'm not big on conventions.  I'm just not that sociable.  I do enjooy the celebrity guests and the merchandise booths, but pretty much everything else annoys me.  In fact, I've only been to three in my life...Wizard World Chicago 2000, The O Comic Con and now Britishfest 2015.  My wife and I are such huge fans of British television and film that this con was way more of a natural fit for us.

This is the second year for Britishfest and this go around they have some amazing celebrity guests to go along with the panels, dealers and cosplay.  The most exciting of which is Adrian Paul, television and film's Highlander!  I literally cannot believe that they managed to get him!  He is hosting a cool panel on Saturday afternoon and signing autographs and taking pictures with fans throughout the weekend!    This alone is worth the price of admission, but add to that a great gaming area, where the con has provided dozens of tabletop games for fans to pass the time with between panels and events, amazing cosplay, steampunk, a unique dealer room and a really fun prop room where you can take pictures with everything from Sherlock's door to the Hobbit hole, and you have one phenominal convention.   The Omaha / Council Bluffs area needs these types of events desperately, and we're so honored that we were able to be a part of this one.

The dealer room features all types of unique vendors, we've featured some of the more interesting ones for you below!  Check out the links to their various online sites, as well!

 The Star Realm
The Star Realm was a HUGE nerd staple in the 80s and 90s in LaVista, NE...one of the coolest gaming/comic shops ever!  Many will remember the amazing Star Trek mural on the back of the building, visible from 84th Street.  The former owner of the shop, Bill, was on-hand with amazing merchandise and great prices!  Go visit him, he's a great guy!

 Amber Comstock
This booth is a must see!  Amber makes inspired cuffs that will doll up any outfit!  She is also available for full-on seamstress work, crafting cosplay outfits!  Plus, her daughter is super adorable!  (contact her at amber.m.comstock@gmail.com for cosplay and tailoring jobs!)

 Fox Faery Creations
Stop by the booth of Tyson Rowell and Janelle Moore to find some fantastical jewelry and creations!  (www.etsy.com/shop/foxfaerycreations)

Eric M. Hunter & Tattiana Talahandra
The 'Leather and Lace' contrast of the con!  It works so well together, though!  Visit this joined booth with amazing wares!  (Eric: www.facebook.com/CrossworldMercantile and Tattiana: www.facebook.com/Talahandra

Laura McDonnold
She creates these fantastic plush creatures, highlights include her amazing Labyrinth characters! (www.etsy.com/shop/Panlora)

Fans of everything from Doctor Who to Sherlock, Monty Python to Harry Potter will enjoy the festivities and panels that are going all weeekend long.

The con will still run Saturday and Sunday at the Mid America Center.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.  Don't miss it, this is THE place to be in Omaha this weekend!
